Desert Surprise Series

We are proud to present a new site dedicated to the works of author, Emily A. York and illustrator, Dr. Mary Stokrocki. Seldom comes a time when a unique combination of “writer” and “painter” join forces to make such an enchanting experience for the young reader. The setting, as the title implies, is the sonoran desert in the far southwest United States.
